A quick survey of some great sellers shows I'm not alone in supporting animal welfare through my vintage sales.
The ever-fabulous Meloo has a number of items on eBay with a percentage of the sale going to RESCUE. How about these rhinestone-studded 1950s Springolators?
Whiskersrescue on eBay has a wonderful array of items, such as this Weiss red aurora borealis rhinestone set, all to help Whiskers Rescue Inc.
This stunning 1950s Fred Perlberg gown is one of the temptations in store for you at Fuzzylizzie's Etsy shop, with proceeds going to Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation.
Reminder: I will donate 25% of my earnings (from all of my selling venues at denisebrain.com) throughout August to the Save the Manatee Club. Thank you so much for all who have purchased so far, and especially for those who let me know they care about manatees too. Without you, I couldn't make this impact.

It's still Manatee month at denisebrain!
Don't forget: 25% of the proceeds from my sales in August will go to the Save the Manatee Club.
It's a great time to find yourself some great vintage clothing, and help endangered manatees at the same time!

A great anniversary in the history of equality
...and an excuse for some inspiring Etsy finds by way of my latest Treasury:
August 18 is the 90th anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, giving women the right to vote. My mother never, ever, failed to vote, and considered it a great privilege as well as her right. I urge you not to forget how much this meant to our mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers.

Remarkable 1949 novelty print blouse
You must know I love vintage novelty prints...what a trove of treasure! Here's my Flickr collection, and the Flickr Vintage Novelty Prints group pool).
Listed on eBay right now I have a blouse with one of the best novelty prints I've seen. The blouse dates from 1949, to be discerned from the newspaper print itself, with a few references to 1948 and 49. There is an article about an antique show with scarce 1949 motor cars "Strange Four Wheeled Land Vehicles Cause Much Comment."
The print is funny and historical and fascinating, as this was a 1949 view of a newspaper ("The Strata Star") in 1999...the future. In this future, we are traveling to other planets and they are traveling to us, the government (made up of Globocrats and Unipublicans) is in charge of everything. There are atomic-heated coats, Martian ambassadors, 8-course dinner pills and commuter rockets causing traffic delays.
You may notice the paper is dated April 1, 1999.
I bought the blouse from a 98-year old woman who said she bought it to wear to a Halloween party and it was so popular that she wore it on other occasions when she wanted to break the ice.
See more photos of the blouse and the listing here.
Who are those mermaids?
Please visit my August theme, I hear the mermaids singing, and you'll see just who those mysterious sirens are!
Throughout the month of August, I am donating 25% of my sales to a cause very dear to my heart, endangered manatees, through Save the Manatee Club.
These gentle "mermaids" are having a very difficult year, with the winter's cold stress wiping out 10% of their already very limited population, and the Gulf disaster likely to affect their numbers even further. Every year many manatees, with no natural enemies, are injured and killed by motor boats. Please help endangered manatees by supporting Save the Manatee Club with me.
Any purchase from me (denisebrain web store, denisebrain on eBay, denisebrain on Etsy, or materialgirlbags on Etsy) will contribute 25% of the sale price to the cause.
